Which came first, films or fashion?… maybe an impossible question but also a challenge to discover in Barcelona from 6th to 20h July by the hand of The Brandery and Marie Claire magazine which show more than 40 photographs signed by Manuel Outumuro and appeared in the pages of Marie Claire magazine over the past few years.
The photo exhibition comprises pictures recreating iconic scenes of films, unforgettable divas in film history who have crossed the silver screen to also become part of fashion history. It can be enjoyed outdoors, on the Paseo de Gracia -between Calle Aragon and Gran Vía- having its mainstays in scenes from movies impossible to forget: “The Birds”, recreated by actress Cayetana Guillen Cuervo; “In the Mood for Love” with a Ariadna Gil in the title role; “Bonnie & Clyde”, with Pilar Lopez de Ayala and Eduardo Noriega, the latter also in “The Leopard” and the model Judith Mascó as alter ego of Sharon Stone in “Basic Instinct”.
Movies and fashion work together under the lens of Outumuro, focused on “auteur films” whose aesthetic and costumes -original, fine or offenders- have influenced definitely in fashion and have changed our times and preferences. Meanwhile the actresses Leonor Watling, Olivia Molina and Ana de Armas -among many others- are also involved in this major exhibition getting into the skin of legendary performers of cinema as Louise Brooks, Lauren Bacall and Barbara Stanwick respectively. So do the models Nieves Alvarez with Ava Gadner, Cristina Tosio with Brigitte Bardot or Martina Klein as Veronica Lake.
Take to the streets, meet movies, fashion and… make you scene!
